We are committed to the academic and personal success, and the continued improvement, of all our students. To that end, St. Peter's carefully monitors the academic progress of each child using various universal screening measures.
The school employs a full-time intervention specialist, Mrs. Heather Adams, and a part-time speech/language pathologist, Mrs. Lindsey Arminio. Our teachers, parents, and intervention team work together using a response to intervention model to determine the needs of each student and identify strategies to help them reach their potential.
Our intervention specialist works with students both in the classroom and in flexible, small groups to deliver specialized instruction and support to those students who demonstrate this need. The intervention a child receives depends on the individual needs of that student.
Mrs. Adams also holds a reading endorsement and is trained in Orton-Gillingham phonics instruction, as well as Fountas and Pinnells Leveled Literacy Intervention.
