At St. Peter in Chains, we are committed to making every effort possible to accomodate tuition assistance requests or life-altering circumstances that result in need. Our financial aid opportunities include:
Archdiocese of Cincinnati Catholic Education Foundation Scholarships
The Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) Scholarship Program became a reality in 2017 thanks to the Archdiocese's One Faith, One Hope, One Love Capital Campaign. The CEF awards need-based tuition grants up to $1,000 for K-8 students enrolled in an Archdiocesan school. Application is made through FACTS Tuition Management. Please visit www.catholicbestchoice.org for details.
Ohio EdChoice Scholarship
State-funded financial aid is available to families with qualifying income AND to families whose children would ordinarily attend a public school currently listed as underperforming by the Ohio Department of Education. Please contact the School Office for more information on EdChoice.
St. Peter in Chains Parish Tuition Aid
A limited amount of tuition assistance is available each year through the parish, on the basis of financial need. Applications for need-based financial assistance must be submitted through FACTS Tuition Management for consideration.
Hamilton Community Foundation Scholarships
Thanks to generous donors and the skilled management of the Hamilton Community Foundation, St. Peter's is able to offer a limited number of scholarships. Each of these donor-advised funds possesses different eligibility criteria. Please contact the School Office for details.
Knights of Columbus Scholarship
Scholarships are available to the children of men involved in the Knights of Columbus. To learn more about financial assistance or inquire about membership, please contact Mr. Dave Senger at david.senger@zoomtown.com.
Applying for Assistance through FACTS
Tuition aid forms are handled through FACTS Tuition Management. Families applying for financial aid will need to complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documents to FACTS Grants & Aid Assessment. Early completion of this application is encouraged to ensure your application is reviewed for the Catholic Education Foundation Scholarships. Applicants may apply online by visiting the FACTS Tuition Management site. Should the FACTS fee be a problem for your family, please contact Elizabeth Moran, parish business manager, at (513) 863-3938.
Donations to the Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO)
Catholic School Supporters May Be Eligible for an Ohio Tax Credit!
The State of Ohio has passed a bill that allows a tax credit for qualified donations to a certified Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO). Ohio taxpayers who donate to SGOs may be able to claim a dollar-for-dollar, non-refundable tax credit on their state income tax return for up to $750 per donor (up to $1,500 if married and filing jointly).
See section 5747.73 of the Ohio Revised Code. The Catholic Education Foundation for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati (CEF) has been certified by Ohio as a scholarship-granting organization (SGO). In keeping with the mission of CEF and the regulations of an SGO, the CEF-SGO will provide scholarships (based on financial need) to students in grades K-12 in the Catholic schools of our Archdiocese.
Your donation can be designated to benefit a specific school(s).
Gifts that are not designated to a particular school will be available to families with the greatest need across our Archdiocese. Consult with your tax advisor to determine:
(1) your eligibility for the state tax credit, (2) its value to you, and (3) the details of your gift.
PLEASE NOTE: According to a representative from the Ohio Department of Taxation, if you file a married joint return, each taxpayer would need to make their own $750 contribution to claim the maximum of $1,500. Separate acknowledgement letters will be provided for documentation of your gifts.
