We take academics very seriously at St. Peter's. For example, our K-3 teachers are trained in Orton Gillingham, a highly structed approach to teaching students how to be successful readers. O-G breaks down reading and spelling into smaller, more manageable skills involving letters and sounds. This method uses explicit, direct, sequential, systematic, and multi-sensory instruction, which has proven highly effective for students of all abilities, including those with dyslexia.
